Lord Brahma praises Lord Sri Krishna
Sri Brahma said:- Bhagawan Sri Krishna! You, who has the radiance of
clouds, who wears lightning colored attire, who speaks with a voice full of the
sweetness of nectar, the greatest of all, the holder of the flute, who wears
peacock feather, my salutations to You and Your brother Balaram. Sri Krishna,
You alone, the greatest among men, the Complete God of Gods is Sri Hari, who is
beyond creation. We, the Devatas, who are parts of You and your Kalavatars, and
with Whose powers we respectively create the world, rear the world and destroy
the world, the same Supreme Lord, You, have descended to this world in the form
of Sri Krishnachandra and accepted to be born as the son of Nand. With premier
Gopa boys, You are going around grazing cows in the guise of a Gopa in
Vrindavan. The one who is equal to a crore Kamadevas and is meteoric, wearer of
Koustubha, who is dark-colored, wearer of yellow-colored dress, bearer of the
flute, King of Vraj, husband of Radhika, one who roams in the thickets, the
most handsome Sri Hari, I prostrate before You. One, who similar to the clouds
that cover the sky, who is present in the bodies of animals as their soul, one
who is the primordial knowledge embodied, and who is Chitta-Swaroop, who is
beyond Maya and who is attainable by pure devotion, prominent asceticism, The
First God Sri Hari, I bow before you. One who knows all! When the mind starts
getting obsessed with greed, pleasures, and ambitions (Rajoguna), then oaths
become uncertain. The mind that is influenced by oaths and uncertainties
generates pride and the same which is full of pride gets deformed. Like the momentary
spark of lightning, like the changing of seasons, like a line drawn on water,
like the love of cheating traveler, the pleasures of life is an illusion and
false. Material pleasures are surrounded by sadness and it is like the circle
which is formed when sparks of fire are rotated fast. It is like a stationary
object which appears to be moving because of the flowing of water in the
background. When eyes are rotated with speed, earth which is stationary appears
to be moving, Krishna. Just like that, one who is influenced by the
characteristics that are created by nature thinks that it is the truth.
Happiness and sadness that are derived out of one's mind, will be lost while
they are asleep and they start feeling them again once they are awake, for them
this illusion of self-love becomes permanent in the world. By sacrificing these
endearments and pride, wise men become ascetics, full of love and peace. Their
elemental vision is, with one flame of light, crores of lights can be lit, just
like that just, one Divine God can generate everything.
A pious one will be free of all these
qualities, and like a flame without smoke, he will worship 'Vasudev' who is the
Lord of even Brahma. Just like we see many images of one moon in many pails of
water, just like that they are gratified by seeing the unity of the soul. Even
after studying the Vedas continuously, not even a fraction of that can be
understood completely! Then, who can in the three worlds describe the qualities
of Sri Hari? Myself with four faces, Deva of Devas, Mahadev with five faces,
and Seshnag with thousand faces praise You. The resident of Vaikunta, Vishnu,
Ksheerodashaayi, Sri Hari, and religious sage Narayan are all serving You, Lord
of Golok. Aha! Murari! Your glory is felicitous. Your glory is known to neither
to sages nor ordinary mortals on this earth. Devas, demons, and the fourteen
Manu's are also incapable of knowing You. All of these can not have darshan of
your Lotus Feet even in their dreams. Ocean of glory, Giver of salvation, God
of Glory, King of Vraj, I pay my obeisance to You. Shining with a face colored
like a betel nut, sweet spoken, with red lips in the color of scarlet gourd
fruit, sweet smile shining with clean teeth like the kernels of pomegranate
fruit, with attractive shining blue cheeks and brightly shining and swinging
golden ear drops, Sri Krishna, I bow before you. Your most beautiful form will
win over the heart of Kamadev. Let my eyes always be seeing the beauty of Sri
Krishna, who wears the large eardrops, Whose leelas are greater than the
Vaikunta leela and whose most excellent looks are revered by all the Devas, I
offer my salutations to you with bowed head. Victory to Sri Krishna in
Vrindavan, which is graceful with the beauty of Vasanta kaala(spring season),
which is full of nightingales and other birds, which is beautified by new
trees, and is bestowed with a gentle breeze. May this Lord always protect His
devotees. Your broad eyes filled with love and benevolence will take away the
reputation of lotuses and the pride of the swinging pearls. They please all the
amorous people on this earth and are accomplished and equal to the arrows of
Kamadev which inspire love. I worship Him, Whose fingernails are like the Moon
of Sharat kaal (autumn season), provide safety, destroys pitch darkness . Your
feet are similar to the ever-shining crores of rays from the Sudarsan chakra of
Sri Hari and from those feet brightness radiates like the brightness of the
wheels of the chariot of the Sun God. Around Your waist, the yellow-colored
cloth with small bells is shining brightly. I worship that charming beauty of
Yours, on whose bright and broad chest, Lakshmi resides, on whose necklace,
golden beads and precious gems are shining like stars and who wears a garland
of flowers with the sound of humming bees, who is playing on the flute with
vermillion-colored fingers, on whose fingers golden finger rings are shining,
whose hands are like the bright as Moonlight and smells like flowers of Kadamba
trees in Kamadev's garden, whose slowness of movement is as beautiful as that
of a king swan, whose shoulders are lifted till His neck, who puts to shame the
beauty of the clouds, I meditate on that delightful charm. Who is stainless
like a clean mirror, pleasant, shining with youthfulness, protector of humans
and beautiful with eardrops and curly hair, I meditate on those cheeks of Sri
Hari, which are bright like the Sun and Moon. The one who wears red cloth
embedded with beads of gold and precious gems, who owns all the handsomeness
that is there on the face of Kamadev, who has the reddish glow of the morning
sky and the brightness of a crore Suns and Moons, and who is adorning the
peacock feather, my salutations to that crown of Sri Krishna. Into His doors,
even Lord Kartikeya, Ganesh, Indra, Chandra, and even Surya are not allowed,
without Whose permission no one can enter Nikunj, I worship that Lord of the
universe Sri Krishnachandra.
Sri Brahma, who praised Sri Krishna in this manner,
again said with folded hands ' Universal Lord! I was generated out of your
navel, hence like a mother who forgives her son's wrongdoings, you please
forgive my misdeeds. Lord of Vraj! I am overlord of only one world and You the
supreme Lord of crores of universes. Hence
Lord of Vraj Madhusudan! Lord! Please save me. By whose Maya,
all the Gods, demons, and humans are enraptured, I like a fool tried to impress
them with my own Maya. Govind, You are Narayan, I am not Narayan. Hari! At the
start of time, You created the universe and became Seshsaayee (one who sleeps
on Seshanag) in the form of Narayan. Many ascetics give up their lives and
merge into Your brightness of Brahmaroop, even Poothana along with her clan
merged into your brightness. Because of my own misdeed, You took the form of
calves and Gopa boys and roamed in the forest. Because of this too, please
pardon me! Like a father who does not see his son's folly, You also please
overlook my misdeed and have mercy on me. Just like those who plow the land for
straw get only straw in their hands, people who are not your devotees make
mistakes mentally and come into grief. Those who perpetually live with devotion
towards You, many ascetics, saints, and people of Vraj have already attained
you. By the two ways of seeing and listening they attain You, but Alas! by the
Maya of Sri Hari, my attainment has not happened!
Sri Brahma saying like this and shedding tears fell
at the feet of Sri Krishna and paid obeisance and again started praying ' I
want to be born as a Gopa and worship your feet and attain salvation, please
let there be no paucity of this, Bhagawan Shankar and all of us Devatas have
entered into the bodies of these people of Barath, Gopas and have had darshan
of Sri Krishna and are blessed. Sri Krishna! Your father, mother, all the Gopas
and Gopis are unquestionably blessed, who in Vraj are having Your complete
darshan. Protector of the entire universe, one who wears the creation like a
pearl necklace, creator of the universe, the foundation of all, storehouse of
leelas, one who moves in the Yamuna, the daughter of Sun, playful Sri
Krishnacahandra's incarnating Lord, protect me. Lotus of the lake in the form
of Vishnu, son of Nand, Lord of Radha, God of Gods, Madan Mohan, King of Vraj,
Head of Gokul, Govind, protect me, as I am enamored by Maya. Those who go
around Krishna(parikrama) attain the benefits of going on pilgrimage all over
the world. They will go to the most pleasant and the greatest world called
'Golok'
Sri Narada says:- King of the world, Pitamaha, Brahma, after praising the lovely Vrindavan's
Lord and prostrating before Him and doing Parikrama around Him three times
became invisible for a while and after blessing the calves and the Gopa boys,
prayed to return to his place.
Thereafter, Sri Hari permitted by signaling with
His eyes. Father of the world paying obeisance again went back to his world.
King! after this Bhagawan Sri Krishna quickly brought back the calves and Gopa
boys to the place on the banks of Yamuna where they were originally seated.
Seeing Sri Krishna the boys felt like only half a second had passed because of
His Maya. Those boys after seeing Sri Krishna with the calves told Him 'You
come and eat quickly. Lord! since you went away no one has eaten our food'. Sri
Krishna laughingly ate with them and showed the boys the skin of a python.
After that, Sri Krishna along with other Gopa boys and the calves, going in
front, returned slowly to Vraj. White, piquant, yellow, green, and many other
colored calves going in front and slowly returning from the pleasant forest in
a group was Sri Krishna, to whom I pay my obeisance. Being separated from Sri
Krishna even for a moment, the Gopis felt as if ages have passed. Seeing Him
again they all felt very happy. The boys went to their respective homes, tied
the calves in their sheds, and narrated the incidents of Aghasur's slaying and
being saved by Srihari.
