Sri Yamuna Stotra

Maandhata said:- Best of sages Sowbhare! kindly give me the entire description of the most divine verses of Sri Yamuna which endows all happiness.

Sri Sowbhari said:- Most intelligent one! Now you listen to the praise of the daughter of the Sun, Yamuna which will provide all the happiness of this world and give the benefits of all the four efforts of men namely Dharm(righteousness), Arth(wealth), Kaam(Desire) and Moksh(salvation). My salutations always to 'Krishnaa' who emerged from the left shoulder of Sri Krishna. 'Krishne' You are the Swaroop of Sri Krishna, my many salutations to you. The daughter of Kaalinda, Yamuna, You, who is glorified by humming bees and water birds, give the association of Vrindavandham to even those who are stuck in the trenches of their sins, who have wicked minds and lusty and trouble saintly men. Krishne! You are the form of Sri Krishna, Himself.  You are the one who takes the form of a great fish and moves around in the swiftly flowing waters of Pralaya Sindhu, the ocean of annihilation. In every part of You, Bhagawan lives in the form of Tortoise (kurma avatar), and in every drop of You, the aura of Govindadev can be seen. Thatini!  You are Leelavati, I prostrate before You. You have the luster of dark clouds. Your origin took place from the left shoulder of Sri Krishna. You have overtaken with Your sheer strength, even Viraja river which flows with greater force than all the rivers in the universe. Piercing all the towns of demigods, mountains and breaking all insurmountable obstacles, you have reached this earth and established your waves and are flowing here. Yamune! Your name is divine on this earth. Even hearing your name destroys mountainous sins. I pray for your monolithic name to reside in my words and sentences. Even for a moment, if that happens, then all the sins will be refuted. By chanting Your name the punishable sinner will become unpunishable. In the town of your brother, the son of Surya, Yamaraj, Your fierce name “PrachanDaa” goes around the greatest punishment. You are the rope of knowledge to help climb out of the well of ignorance or else you are the cobra which swallows sinful rats, or You are the blue garland which decorates the tresses of the Supreme Lord when He takes His universal form or the blue pearl garland shining on His head in His universal form. The beings of this Earth are fortunate only because Yamuna,  who is the beloved of Supreme Bhagawan Sri Krishna, who is very unattainable even in Golok,  flows on this Earth.

One whose ambiance is filled with the sounds of the group of cows and playful Gopas and Gopis, that daughter of Kalind, O Yamune! O KrishnaPrabhe! May the sound emanating from the circular, beautiful and divine waves on Your shores always protect me.  Your beauty is enhanced by the humming of the bees who are buzzing in Your thick groves, the sounds of peacocks, and the cooing sounds of the cuckoo birds. Even if there are as many tongues as the hair on one's body, even if as many goddesses of learning as there as grains of sand on this earth, even if great saints use as many tongues as possessed by Seshnag,  sing your glory, it will never be exhausted. If this great praise of the Daughter of Kalind mountain, Yamuna is heard from the mouths of Brahmins, or if is sung by oneself, it brings great auspiciousness to the world. If any human recites this every day, he will definitely attain the Supreme Feet of the Lord, which are extolled by the Nikunj leelas of Bhagawan.
