Grand celebrations for the birth of Lord Krishna; Gopas and Gopis bring gifts; Nanda, Yashoda and Rohini welcome them with generous gifts; Brahma and other demingods arrive to have darshan of the Lord

Narada says:-  King! Then, the learned Nanda came to know about a son being born in his house. Hearing this he invited Brahmins and performed holy rituals which were needed to be done. They performed Jaata karma(natal rites). He rewarded them handsomely. On a vast piece of land he heaped seven types of cereals in the form of mountains and decorated them with precious stones and gold, King Nanda humbly presented them to the Brahmins. Along with these he also presented them one lakh cows. He also gifted them with attractive and balsamic items. King Nanda gave them all the gifts in the most unassuming manner. Drums, Veena, conch, and other musical instruments were being played. At the entrance of the palace, singers were singing auspicious songs. The girls were dancing. Crackers were being burst. The home of Nanda was beautified by lovely golden decorations and paintings. All the streets, lanes, walls, platforms, and courtyards were decorated with paintings. Perfumed liquids were sprayed on the walls and were decorated with colorful clothes. The whole place was shining and picturesque.

The horns of the cows were covered with gold. Golden necklaces were put around their necks. The bells around their necks and the anklets on their feet giving out very sweet sounds. Their bodies were covered with shining red colored cloth. Their tails were given yellow color.The cows were decorated thus. There were many calves along with the cows. Their bodies were painted with pictures of young girls. They were decorated with yellow, red and other metallic colours. The cows were roaming around here and there at the entrance of the palace of Nanda. The calves, who were decorated with precious pearl necklaces were jumping around merrily hither and thither.

      Learning about the birth of the child at King Nanda's house Vrishabhanuvar along with queen Kalavati (Keertida) came to the home of Nanda, riding on an elephant. The nine Nands, Upananads, and six Vrishbhanus who were in Vraj also came. All of them brought different kinds of gifts. They were all wearing headgear (pagadi) which were decorated with peacock feathers and colorful flowers. With flutes and canes in their hands and wearing different types of tilaks on their foreheads flocks of Gopals also arrived there. They were singing and dancing merrily. Lads with moustaches and without moustaches came there with different kinds of gifts. Elders also came carrying butter, milk, curds, and gifts came to the palace of Nanda. They were shedding tears of joy upon hearing about the birth of the child at the house of the king of Vraj, Nanda. They were discussing the celebrations and were shedding joyful tears. They were overawed by the grandeur of the palace and the celebrations.

Kind Nanda's happiness knew no bounds. He welcomed all the guests who had come very warmly.

The Gopas said:- O King of Vraj! O King Nandaraj! The son who is born to you has destroyed the curse of your childlessness. What can be happier news than this?

God has shown you this day after a very long time, we will all be delighted to see the son of King Nanda. When you carry your son in your arms and say 'Hey Mohan', we will all be very happy. 

King Nanda says:- Fiends! by your good wishes and blessings, this happy day has come. I am only an obedient servant of the Gopas and Gopis, who live in Vraj. 

Narada says:- King! the news of the birth of a son in King Nanda's house has brought boundless joy to the Gopis. Their hearts were filled with joy. They left all their house chores and were going around the streets spraying pearls here and there. As they were moving around in a hurry their dresses, ornaments, and hair were disheveled, even this condition was making them look more attractive. The tingling anklets, bangles, colorful dresses, necklaces, and the ornaments in their hairs were a sight to behold. All of them applied turmeric powder, sandal paste, and yellow colored liquid on the lovingly on the child and blessed him. After doing this they told Yashodha thus.

The Gopis said:- Yashoda! A very good and fortunate thing has happened to us. This is a very auspicious day. You and your womb are blessed to give birth to such a lovely baby. After a long time, God has full filled your wish. The child has eyes like lotus and his smile is so sweet. Take very good care and bring him up well. 

Yashodha said:- Sisters! with all your blessings and good wishes only we got this happiness in our house. You have always been kind to me. After this, may you all get this happiness with the grace of God. This is my wish. Sister Rohini, you are very intelligent. You do all work very well. All the Gopis who have come to your house are very noble. Please welcome them respectfully and fulfill all their wishes to the best of your capacity. 

Narada says:- King! Rohini was also a princess. By nature, she was very generous, and Yashodha also encouraged her to be generous. She started giving gifts very generously. She had very bright looks and the shining dress she was wearing and with all adornment of jewels added to her beauty. She looked like Goddess Lakshmi. She started welcoming the people of Vraj going around them. At the appearance of the complete Lord Sri Krishna in Vraj, all the men started playing musical instruments.

At that time all the Gopis start throwing ghee, butter balls, curd and milk on each other, and happily sang very loudly. It became very slippery outside and inside the palace. Big and fat people were slipping and falling, others were laughing at them from a distance. King! The people, religious men, and others who were intelligent and spoke according to the situation also came there. They were from Maghad. They were also rewarded very well by the rich King of Vraj Nanda. Houses in every lane of Vraj was filled with all riches. They were all in the open and nobody was interested in taking them.

     At that time Brahma, took Sanathkumar, Kaoil, Vyasa, Hamsa, Dattatreya, Pulasthya, and me(Narada) to that place. Brahma's color was golden, the crown on his head and His ear studs were shining. That four-faced Brahma came there sitting on a swan and was followed by His army. Lord Shiva came on a bull. Suryadev came in a chariot. King of Devas, Indra came on riding on Airavata. Vayudeva, Yamaraj, Kubera, Godess Chandrama, Agnideva, Varuna, Kartikeya, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Durga, Mother earth in the form of a cow, and all of them came on their respective vahanas. All the sixteen  Godesses came there sitting on a palki (palanquin). Goddess Shshtidevi, who carries a sword, disc, and baton also came there. Devas Mangal, Budh, Brihaspati, Shukracharya, Shanidev, Simhakumar, all these demigods of planets who were brighter than a crore young Suns came to the palace of Nanda. The palace was filled to the brim with Gopis. All Devas who came there saw the Complete (paripoornatam), Lord Sri Krishna, in the form of a baby bowed their heads in front of him and praised him very well. After that Brahma along with all other Devas and Rishis, very happily went back to their respects abodes.
