Garga Bhagavatham : Giriraj Khanda - Chapter 8
Description of various holy places as the organs of Giriraj Govardhan
Bahulashwa asks:- Blessed one! Lord! You have the best knowledge of the
past, present, and future. Hence please tell me in which parts of Giriraj,
which holy places are present?
Sri Narada says:- King! Whichever part of Giriraj is famous, that part
itself is considered as the best part of Giriraj. As such, there is no place
that is not part of Giriraj. Honored one! Just like the Brahman is
all-pervading and all the parts are His own, in the same manner, I will
describe with a vision of greatness and emotion, the parts of Govardhan which
are considered as his eternal features.
A subsection of Shringarmandal is the face of
Sri Govardhan, where Bhagawan had celebrated a feast. Maanasi Ganga is the two
eyes of Govardhan, "Chandra sarovar" is the nose,
"Govindkund" is his lips, and "Sri Krishnakund" is his chin.
"Radhakund" is his tongue and "Lalita sarovar" is his
cheeks. "Gopal kund" are his ears and "Kusumasarovar" is
his earlobes. King of Mithila! the rock on which the emblem of the crown is
there, you please know that it is his forehead. '"Chitrashila" is his
head and "Vaadinishila" is his neck. "Kanduka teerth" is
his back and '"Ushneesha teerth" is said to be his chest. "Drona
teerth" is in his back and "Loukikateerth" is in his stomach.
"Kadambkhand" is in his heart. "Shringaramandal teerth" is
his soul. The footprint of Sri Krishna is the mind of the great Govardan.
"Hastachinha teerth" is his intellect and the footprint of Airavat
are his feet. In the footprints of the cow Surabhi, the great Govardan's wings
are there. "Punchakund" is considered to be his tail. 'Vatsakund' has
his strength, "Rudrakund" has his anger and "Indra sarovar"
represents his lust. "Kubera teerth" is his workplace and
"Brahma teerth" is the reflection of his happiness. Learned men say
that "Yama teerth" denotes his pride.
King of Mithila! In this manner, I have told
you about all the parts of Giriraj, which will clear away all the sins. Those
greatest of men who listen to the greatness of Giriraj will go to the best
abode called Golok, which is unattainable even for the yogis. The King of all
Kings of mountains, Govardhan who has emerged out of the heart of Sri Hari, has
come to this Vrajmandal by the greatness of sage Pulastya. By having Govardhan
darshan none will reborn on this earth.
