Abduction of Cows, Calves, and Gopas by Bramha

Sri Narada says:- King! Now listen to the other leelas of Bhagawan Sri Krishna. The leelas were at the time of His childhood. But still, they were revealed much later. Sri Krishna after saving the calves and the boys from deathlike, most frightful Aghasur's mouth wanted to enhance their joy. With this intention, going to the banks of the Yamuna, He said' Dear friends! This welcoming riverside is very beautiful indeed. In Sharad Ritu (autumn season) the fully blossomed lotus flowers are full of nectar. The breeze which has all three qualities of coolness, softness, and fragrance is very soothing. This land on the banks of the river is adorned with the sweet sound of buzzing bees, beautiful thickets, and lovely creepers. It's much past noon and it is already time to eat. This place with tender trees looks like a good place to eat. Hence sit here itself and eat. The calves can also drink water and eat green grass and move around.' The Gopa boys listening to these words of Sri Krishna and said "So be it!' and all the boys sat on the banks of the Yamuna to eat. After this, the boys who had nothing to eat whispered into Sri Krishna's ears 'We do not have anything to eat, what shall we do? Nand village is far from here, hence we will take the calves and go back' hearing this Sri Krishna said 'Do not worry. I will provide food for all with self-will. Hence believe my words and stop worrying.' Listening to the assurance of Sri Krishna all of them sat near Him. Other boys opened their packets and sat near Sri Krishna and started eating.

Sri Krishna organized a meeting with all the boys who had surrounded Him. All the boys sat around Him. The boys were dressed in different colored dresses and Sri Krishna wearing yellow-colored dress sat amidst them. At that time Sri Krishna who was surrounded by the Gopa boys was looking as graceful as the king of Devatas Indra, surrounded by Devatas and as beautiful as the saffron-colored central part of a golden lotus. Some boys made vessels out of safflowers, some used sprouts, some used twigs, some used their hands, some used leaves and some used the packets itself and began eating. All of a sudden a boy put a morsel in Sri Krishna's mouth. Sri Krishna enjoying that morsel, looking at everyone He said 'Brother! Give the other boys also your delicious food, let them also taste, I do not know anything about taste'.

Boys said So be it!' and gave morsels of food to others. They also ate the morsels and were making fun of each other. In this way, whoever ate the morsels started laughing and said' Son of Nand! Listen! Whose ever maternal grandfather is an idiot, such a person will not have any sense of tasty food. That is why you did not get any taste of food'

After that Sridama gave Madhav and other boys morsels of food. Boys of Vraj said it was very tasty and praised him. Afterward a boy named Varoothap insistently gave food to all the boys. Sri Krishna and others ate a little bit of it and began to laugh. Boys said 'This also tastes like Subal's food. We are feeling satiated with that food' Like this, all the boys ate their food and making each other laugh, started playing games. Sri Krishna, with a flute, tucked into the cloth around His waist, a cane and horn-shaped instrument under his arm, food packet in His left hand, fruits between His fingers, a crown on His head, yellow shawl on His shoulders, necklace, girdle around the waist, anklets on His legs, the Sreevatsa and the Koustubhamani on His chest, was sitting amidst the Gopa boys and was making them laugh with His funny talk. In this way the consumer of oblations, Sri Hari started eating. The Devatas and humans were seeing this with great astonishment. While the boys who were earlier saved by Sri Krishna were having their meal, the calves being tempted by the green grass strayed deep into the thick forest. Not finding the cattle, the Gopa boys were all very much scared. Seeing this Sri Krishna said 'You boys, do not go. I will go and bring the calves here'. Saying this Sri Krishna got up and carrying food packet in his hand and began searching for the calves in the intense forest.

At the time the boys of Vraj were having delicious food with Sri Krishna, Sri Brahma who was born out of a lotus, seeing Aghasur attaining salvation, began to observe the scene from the clouds hovering above that place. Seeing Sri Krishna eating with the boys thought within himself 'This is not the God of Gods Sri Hari. If he was Sri Hari, how could he eat such unholy food with the Gopa boys?' King! The illusion of the eternal Lord deluded Sri Brahma and made him have such thoughts. He decides to learn the magnificence of the Supreme Lord.

Sri Brahma, being confounded at witnessing the Leela of Aghasur's salvation, descended from the sky, kidnapped all the cows, the calves, and the Gopa boys and disappeared.
